Port of Hamburg.A view of the port in the heart of Hamburg causes longing
for places far away. It smells of coffee, cocoa and tea, oil, resin and tar.
It smells of salt water and foreign countries. The Port of Hamburg is one of
Europe's leading transshipping port and one of the 12 top container ports
in the world.
 

Cap San Diego. The "White Swan of the South Atlantic", the last surviving
classic general cargo freighter, was built at Deutsche Werft, Hamburg, in 1962
and ran liner services to the Atlantic coast of South America for
the Hamburg-Sud Line.
 

A museum ship and floating monument, the Rickmer Rickmers is a reminder
of bygone days when sailing ships ruled the waves. The former East Indies
windjammer is open daily with restaurant and two salons on board.
